What Is a Word Unscrambler?
A word unscrambler is a tool that takes a set of jumbled letters and finds all valid English words that can be formed from those letters. It's perfect for word games like Scrabble, Words With Friends, Text Twist, and crossword puzzles.
Unlike an anagram solver (which uses all letters), a word unscrambler finds words using any combination of the provided letters — from 2-letter words up to the full set.
How to Use It
1. Enter your scrambled letters in the search box (up to 15 letters).
2. Use ? or * for blank/wildcard tiles that match any letter.
3. Select your preferred dictionary.
4. Click “Unscramble” and browse results grouped by word length.
How It Works — An Example
Say you enter the letters SATIRE. The tool checks every word in the dictionary to see which ones can be formed using only those 6 letters (each letter used at most once).
Results might include SATIRE, STRIAE (6 letters), ARISE, RATES, STARE (5 letters), ARTS, STAR, TIRE (4 letters), and many more — all grouped by length.
Tips for Advanced Usage
Wildcards: Got blank tiles? Use ? or * — each substitutes for any single letter. For example, CA? finds CAB, CAD, CAM, CAN, CAP, CAR, CAT, and more.
Filters: Use “Starts with”, “Ends with”, or “Must include” to narrow results. Looking for words ending in “-ING”? Set the ends-with filter.
